Esiqiwini High School has a vision of achieving a 100% Bachelor Pass in 2020, however, due to South Africa’s power crisis, many learners are left impotent to studying or doing their homework at night. To aid the school in achieving Vision 2020, Star for Life Norway handed over 450 solar lamps from Nordea and other personal sponsors. If the natural light solar lamp is charged in the sun for 5 hours, it can produce up to 50 hours of light and even more when using the dimmer.
During Nordea Norway’s visit to the school, one learner had a chance to thank the sponsors for the gift of light, saying: “Now there will be no load shedding excuses for not studying or doing our homework at night, a 100% bachelor pass is definitely possible”, said Slindokuhle Mdletshe.
